Larry, We are lucky to have you to chase down our hermits.
I enjoyed your review of your retirement.

I, too, retired about thirteen years ago, am past eighty and never look back on practice with any yearning. It is good to have each day free with no real obligations.
My wife and I enjoy our mountain place near Clayton. I spend many mornings gardening at our home on the end of a ridge facing north, at the end of a private road. Part of each afternoon is used to organize volumes of history and memorabilia and set aside books to give away. My wife and I are both avid readers and have to move some of them to have room. As we both value family things, we must find homes for a lot of furniture and pictures. Too few people today like the style of our furnishings, as so many people our age are discovering. Auction houses are glutted with fine things grandchildren don’t want .
We would welcome a visit from any class member, live just outside the city limit of Clayton in sight of Highway 441. Our number is 706-782-6297. The class dinner in April was especially enjoyable as we had more time for conversation during the meal.
I have grave misgivings about the type of patient care being taught most everywhere now, including MCG. Technology has driven out interpersonal medicine.
